Our experienced doctor will first assess your current skin condition, then tailor a treatment for your very own needs. From there, a specially developed system starting with simple skin care products, combined with other machines in rejuvenation of your facial skin, will reduce the oil secretion, clear acne bacteria and improve the skin’s defence against future acne.

What is acne?
Acne commonly called zits, is caused by an over-production of keratin (a cheesy secretion) within the pores, These choke up the pores, resulting in blackheads (comedones) and white heads. Comedones are pre-acne lesions, and when they become inflamed, acne spots are formed. It has been found that a bacteria, Propionebacterium acnes, is the cause of acne. Acne comes in various severity – mild, moderate and severe. The definition of each are based on the types of acne lesions seen – papules, pustules and cysts.

Who are those affected by acne?
In dermatological practices, doctors have found no difference in the prevalence of acne between the sexes. Typically at puberty, the pores become very sensitive to even normal levels of circulating hormone, and this results in comedones formation.

Most patients will have their acne problems settled spontaneously in their mid-twenties to early thirties. Unfortunately, about 7% of the population is affected by acne even up to the age of 40 years old.

A peculiar fact about acne in females is that there is usually a pre-menstrual flare up.
